Disney Pin Collecting – Themes For Your Disney Pin Collection

Mar 12
2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Disney Pins have become a remarkably popular collectible among all kinds of Disney fans, especially since Walt Disney World debuted pin trading at the parks during their Millennium celebration for 2000/2001. With the celebration long since over, the pin trading and collecting hasn’t let up at all and has expanded to all the other Disney parks as well. Retail prices for pins at the Disney parks are usually between $7 and $14 for individual pins so they aren’t too expensive either. If you’re buying them from other collectors those prices can go up or down, depending on just how desirable a particular pin is among collectors online.

While many collectors of Disney pins simply buy and trade pins that appeal to them in the moment, it is also possible to build up a pretty substantive collection by sticking to a particular theme. Keeping your collection themed also helps control costs and dealing with the overwhelming selection of pins available. Every month Disney releases dozens of new pins and even with an unlimited pocketbook, it is impossible to get them all. It makes more sense to theme your collection. For example, I only collect Mickey Mouse pins, Stitch pins and pins featuring Walt Disney himself. When I first started collecting, I was much less focused, but once I settled upon my themes, it was easy enough to sell or trade the pins that didn’t fit my collection for ones that did.

Some of the themes you might consider for your Disney pin collection are Disney characters. Mickey Mouse, Tinker Bell and Winnie the Pooh are some of the most popular choices among pin collectors and you can amass a collection in the hundreds of just one of these characters. Right now I have at least 75 pins featuring just Mickey Mouse. In order to keep my collection’s focus even tighter, I usually only buy the pins that feature Mickey on his own and not with all his friends.

Other themes might include Disney cast member pins – these are pins that are only distributed or sold to Disney employees and they are a very popular collectible item; or you could build your collection on pins only released at Disneyland or in the international parks – Disneyland Paris, Tokyo or Hong Kong. It’s all up to you — you could even specialize in just Disney Cruise Line pins!

Cheap Disney Tickets – The Myth

Mar 11
2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

However, ‘Cheap Disney Tickets’ don’t really exist. That’s not to say that you can’t get Disney tickets for less that the gate price but there’s always a downside so its better to go in with your eyes open.

There are lots of people that offer tickets at ridiculous prices – hover you’ll find that they are usually linked to some kind of time-share deal whereby you have to go and ‘enjoy a few hours as their honoured guests’. Yeh – right! What that really means is that they have the opportunity to pressurise you into buying one of their ‘units’. By the way – do you think that the price of the tickets you got would not be built into the price of the ‘unit’ many times over?

Another tempting offer is the ‘Employees Ticket’ scam. If you buy these tickets (usually, not at a great discount either) you run the risk of being refused entry or being ejected or worse. If I’m out with my family, personally, I’m going to have fun and I don’t want the worry of being ejected and accused of fraud!

You see, unlike others who recommend this agency or that based on the referral fee or commission that they get, we have actually bought tickets from lots of agencies and through Ebay in the process of trying to find a suitable provider to recommend to our guests.

The net result is that we now use Kissimmee Guest Services as our sole ticket provider. Our reasons are as follows:

Price matching policy.
Home delivery in the US or USA.
Delivery to your villa for a reasonable fee (same day!)
Some of the cheapest deals we’ve ever found.

We get no commission from KGS. They trade with integrity as do we. Put simply, they are the nicest people we have ever dealt with, they provide what you want when you need it and they are very competitively priced.

So the bottom line on tickets is see KGS. Oh – I almost forgot to mention, when you book your Florida vacation rentals you’ll receive a special code that allows access to KGS Special Offers pages on their web site so you can take advantage of further discounts!

From the tried and true, to the newest Disney characters, Disney party supplies are sure to appeal to everyone. There is some remnant of Disney, past and present, in all of us, and something to please the young, or young at heart, whether it’s Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, or one of the newest generation of Disney characters, such as Buzz Lightyear, Disney Princess, or Ariel, to awaken the magic inside YOUR little mermaid or space traveler off “to infinity, and beyond!”

There many parties with Disney themes from which to choose, and the most difficult part may be deciding which character, or characters, you want to incorporate into your Disney theme. Once you have chosen, you can shop almost any retail department store chain, and find a good variety of the most popular Disney party supplies available, for a reasonable cost, or you might choose to shop from the comfort of your own home, using the internet. Just use your favorite meta search engine, by typing in the character (or characters) you want, or simply type ‘Disney Party Supplies’ to find a wealth of sites from which to shop, and choose quality Disney party supplies. A cake based on your Disney party theme can be created by most any local bakery, based on a scanned picture, or online graphic, to complete your Disney party supply list.

There are several advantages to shopping for Disney party supplies online. Besides the more obvious advantages of shopping from home, it is much easier to compare prices, shop for the best quality, have a much wider selection from which to choose, and accomplish the task much more easily than you ever could if you were actually looking from store to store. Top 5 Thrill Rides at Walt Disney World

Mar 08
2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When people think of the most magical place on Earth, the last thought that comes to mind is terrifying. Over time people have become more and more daring. Wanting to ride the tallest, the fastest, and the scariest rides there are. To accommodate this demand for thrills and chills, Disney has developed some of the most engaging thrill rides of our time. I have managed to narrow there thrilling rides down to 5. Here are the top 5 thrilling rides at Walt Disney World.

5. Test Track at Epcot. During this ride, you are the dummy in an automobile testing facility. The car really puts you through your paces as it zooms and swerves down the length of road. Nearing the end of the ride you are thrust through the building on to a racing track. Test Tracks fast pace and surprise give it the number 5 on my countdown.

4. Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom. A classic ride at Walt Disney World. When it was first built it surpassed all thrill rides. To this day, it still remains one of the most thrilling at Disney World. The roller coaster is completely in doors. The darkness adds to the creepy quality of the ride. Unlike most roller coasters, this ride is one-seated. The ride is very bumpy and you turn a lot. The sudden turns and ups and downs are what makes this ride thrilling. And the pitch darkness is what makes it number 4 on my countdown.

3. Expedition Everest at the Animal Kingdom. This ride is one of the most recently added. It was added to appease the thrill seekers. Like all Disney rides this one is themed. The concept is that you are taking a tour to Mt. Everest, but on your way you are thwarted by the Yeti. Not only is Expedition Everest fast, but it is the highest roller coaster in Disney World. For those of you who enjoy heights and speed, will understand why I made this number 3 on my countdown.

2. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Hollywood Studios. Aerosmith are legends of rock. So, it comes as no surprise why Disney chose to model a ride after them. Unlike other indoor roller coasters, this one has its own theme music. Aerosmith music plays as you turn upside down and zoom through the ride. This roller coaster exceeds all others with its music and wild thrills. The music says it all making it number 2 on my countdown.

1. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios. Based off of the famous television show, this ride is nothing short of terrifying. You are transported through time the moment you enter this ghostly hotel. You are greeted by a bell hop and taken to the elevator. Once in the elevator you are in for a 13 story drop. The ride is not done with you yet it drops you over and over again. A new feature was added to ensure you never get the same ride. The dropping is at complete random. The 13 story drop is why I made this number 1 on my countdown.

Next time you think of the most magical place on Earth, think again. It is one of the most scary places on earth. From its terrifying spirals into darkness to its elevators from the out reaches of space and time. Disney World is more than a fun place for the kiddies.

Download Full Version Movies

Mar 06
2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Thanks to the internet and high speed Internet connection in most households today, it is just natural that most of us can download full version movies from the comfort of our own home.

Past are the days that we needed to go out to the local DVD store to buy or rent a DVD when we can just simply open our computer and download full version movies right off the Internet.

There are huge advantages and disadvantages when it comes to using the internet as a free source.

The advantages are obvious.

The Variety and the freedom to choose our full version movie downloads are almost endless.

Just Google download full version movies and you will get 82,500,000!!! (To date) WebPages, many of them offer to download full version movies for free.

The disadvantage is that the amount of offers you are presented with could be overwhelming. Like going into a huge toy store and try to decide which toy you want to buy.

That wouldn’t be so bad, especially when you are presented with so many free offers. “Toys you can get for free”…. BUT all that “free” stuff offered across the net could be very dangerous for your computer’s safety.

Downloads from an unknown sources could carry viruses and spyware that could attack your computer and cause great damage.

Another issue that must be addressed and to many of us ignore is the violation of copyright laws.

There are quite a few online movie download sites that permit you to download free full version movies but they are illegal. It is of outmost importance to only download copyright free and piracy free movies.

To enjoy all the current, high quality full version movies downloads I highly recommend signing up for the credited and well established Paid Online Movie Sites.

Yes, its not free, but for a one time membership fee which is about 45$ – 50$ you can download unlimited full version movies including the most current ones as well as get full access to all their archives of games and music – all legal.

Checking various free movie download sites I also found the movies to be of low quality and in many cases the download speed was very slow.

Paid movie download sites, on the other hand, offer superb quality movies and the download speed is much faster.

If you want to download full version movies I highly recommend paid movie download sites.

Disney’s Best For Spring Break

Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida is 49 square miles. The size of a whole city and inside the World, as it is known, there are unlimited ways to entertain yourself. I have listed the ten most enjoyable attractions at Disney World appropriate for all ages.

1. From EPCOT the winner is Honey I shrunk the Audience. The audience in this attraction appears to have been shrunk down to the size of ants as a giant film shows on the screen. As rodents run past in the movie your chair shakes appropriately. When someone on screen sneezes you will get a light mist in your face. This one has everyone squealing with delight. This is an attraction for all ages.

2. From The Magic Kingdom comes the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger spin. You are enlisted to help Buzz save the Universe.. The way you achieve this is by way of laser cannons that are set in front of you in a futuristic car hurling through space. Your car will spin while you try to hit targets out in the Universe. The effects are achieve with black light and glow in the dark surfaces. Kids get great joy out of making their parents dizzy on this one. Do not miss this one.

3. Disney-MGM Studious Back lot Tour at Disney-MGM is an informative excursion. Guests get to tour through movie sets on a tram. It is fascinating to see what goes on behind the scenes to create special effects and different scenes. At the end you are taken through floods and explosions before being shown how it is done.

4. Disneyquest at Downtown Disney is an often overlooked indoor theme park. This larger than life arcade provides a welcome respite from the broiling Florida sun. It is five stories high of interactive entertainment. On the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction inside Disneyquest you an up to three others are manning a schooner fighting against pirates and sea monsters. One plays the roll of captain steering the vessel while the others are busy launching cannons at the bad guys. Just when you think it is over a giant sea creature tries to board your ship and you must defend once again. This attraction will take your mind off of anything else as you will be preoccupied with your own survival. Fun is the operative word here, for all ages.

5. Also from Disneyquest is the Extraterrestrial Alien Encounter where you can blast and be blasted inside of small spaceship that you fly. Actually you drive it around a floor painted like the milky way. One person steers while the other shoots large rubber cannons from the ship. If you hit an opponent at just the place it will send their ship into a tailspin. All the more fun is if someone else hits your ship’s target spot.

6. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at Magic Kingdom provides a bit of nostalgia for parents and a sense of wonder in the little ones . Seeing Pooh and friends come alive in the Hundred Acre Wood will warm your heart. This one gets busy though so you may want to use a fast pass if the park is packed.

7. The fireworks show is best viewed from Magic Kingdom. Depending on the time of year there are different themes to this one but one thing remains constant Disney doesn’t do anything halfway and this is no exception. One year I saw the Fourth of July fireworks and the explosions were in the shape of stars. The show was visible all the way from the Disney Pop Century hotel which is not right next door. All ages will ooh and gasp over the show.

8. Mickey’s PhilharMagic show is a 3D short movie shown on the largest seamless screen ever built. As per all things Disney it is not just a film. This attraction has the audience watching a scene from Fantasia where Donald Duck puts on Mickey’s magical hat and is catapulted into the audience. You will smell the scents and feel water and a surprising but not painful sting as well have a visual experience like no other. This may be the most entertaining twelve minutes you ever spend in a movie theater. Bring the kiddies but don’t sit back fully in your chair if you want to avoid the sting.

9. At EPCOT the are many national pavilions. The best of all is the Mexico Pavilion. Inside there is a slow boat ride around the Rio el Tiempo Volcano. This is a gentle and peaceful ride that serves to calm overstimulated children and quell the fire of aching feet in adults.

10. Dinosaur at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is not an Aladar ride as I was led to believe. There is a life size Aladar from the kids movie called Dinosaur standing right outside but don’t let that fool you. You and your fellow victims are strapped into large metal jeep like vehicles and taken on a trip back in time to when the great beasts roamed the earth. At the end you find out you have mistakenly transported a dinosaur forward to modern times. It is more transfixing that frightening unless like myself you are worried you may fall out of the car and be electrocuted on the track. My fellow pint sized riders had a rollicking good time while I rode in terror. Take your chances. There is a height restriction on this one of 40 inches.

You also won’t have a hard time finding it because you will notice Ms. Tilly, a shrimp boat situated on top of the mountain.

Beneath the 100 foot man made mountain, the theme park spreads out to a 2 ½ acre lagoon that is surrounded by white beaches. If the weather gets to you, there is plenty of shade around thanks to the lush vegetation.
